Manufacturing and R & D

Six Decades of Undisputed Leadership

Incorporated in 1964, HCL pioneered friction materials development and manufacturing in India. Our 60-year legacy of quality and innovation through strategic collaborations and in-house R&D has positioned us as the industry benchmark.
The salient aspect of our manufacturing process is the use of our own binder/resin systems, which enable us to conform to the highest standards of quality. The plant and machinery used for manufacturing friction material is constantly upgraded which help us to meet the most stringent OEM requirements.

Sustainability

Energy Efficiency

  • To ensure energy efficiency, initiated the use of "Green Energy' -installed a 1.7 MW solar power plant at Paithan (about 25% of the total power requirement of the company.
  • Installation of a 0.4 MW solar power plant at Bhandara.

Environment

  • Green Plant with no asbestos.
  • Tree plantation at both plants.
  • Recycling of water through the STP plant.
  • Installation of additional dust collectors to keep the shopfloordust-free.

Waste Management

  • Waste management system for systematic collection of scrap and its reuse.
  • Promoted industrial recycling of waste like scrap liners, grinding & drilling dust.
  • Use of recyclable bins for the delivery of material to large OEM customers
